Indiana Lift Laws and Vehicle Equipment Laws

The maximum vehicle size in Indiana is 102 inches wide, 13 feet 6 inches tall, and 40 feet long for a single vehicle.

Tires must be in safe operating condition, without any bulges or exposed cords. Indiana has no listed minimum tire tread depth. It is unclear if tire grooving is permitted.

Fenders and mud flaps are not listed in Indiana's laws.

In addition to headlights and tail lights, vehicles in Indiana are allowed to have auxiliary lighting.

Indiana's code requires both windshields and windshield wipers.

In Indiana, vehicles are required to be equipped with mufflers and it is prohibited to install any kind of exhaust cutout or bypass.

It is unclear whether or not Indiana has any engine swap or engine performance modification rules.

Several counties in Indiana require emissions testing.
